Russian interference? Nyet. Democrat spying? Da!

To the Editor:

We will soon see the second major report from the DOJ IG – focusing on how the FBI handled Hillary Clinton’s email investigation. [The first strongly supported the AG’s basis for firing McCabe.] I wonder why Comey has suddenly been so quiet? The third report will cover the Clinton Foundation [no, it has NOT been effectively investigated yet.] Mueller will be at the periphery of that, if not fully in the limelight, since the Foundation carried on practices that were already in effect during the Uranium One scandal, which occurred while Mueller headed the FBI and the FBI engaged in some covering up, just as they did later about the emails and their spying.
Meantime, the whole basis for the “Russian interference” justification for Mueller’s investigation is looking ever more shaky, and not just because he isn’t finding anything substantial, and might well be operating outside of the scope under which he was appointed. As more and more information comes to light, it looks more like Mueller’s “investigation” is a massive smoke-screen – a cover-up – to hide the interference perpetrated by the Clinton campaign, aided and abetted and enabled by FBI, DOJ, and likely Britain’s MI6.
When you think about it, collusion between Putin and Trump – to the detriment of Hillary – doesn’t make a lot of sense anyway. Putin had already found Clinton to be a willing patsy – a real pushover – who could be manipulated and bought off as they did in Uranium One. As a Secretary of State and as potential head of a continuing government with ridiculous and wishy-washy foreign policy, Putin would be ecstatic to have her heading up the US. She even had the cojones to blame terrorism, which he foments and supports, on videos. [We would be truly deplorable if we had bought that line of garbage.] Trump, on the other hand, represented a tougher prospect and certainly not an easy pushover. It defies logic to think that anyone would believe that Putin would prefer to come up against Trump than Hillary.
As we are seeing almost daily, the real collusion and obstruction has been by the very people who were supposed to be protecting against it. And yes, it will go right to the former presidents Obama and Clinton before it is all uncovered. Obama knew he was getting emails from an unauthorized and insecure server, just as he knew exactly why Benghazi happened. Clinton set up the Foundation’s pay-for-play influence peddling. And, yes, Clinton did meet the AG on the tarmac, and if that meeting was to discuss grandchildren, then there was some real abuse of Foundation funds and the AG’s travel budget… why wan’t the MSM all over that crock of baloney?!
In the swamp, the critters can lie and get a mostly free ride from the MSM, although it is so bad that now even the NY Times can’t cover up or ignore everything – they know that the politicized FBI had at least one and maybe more spies in the Trump campaign. This is way over the top for unacceptable collusion and interference – makes Watergate look mild by comparison.
When this gets fully aired, Democrats are going to be held accountable. After all, it was the Democrats who rode the high ground and pushed to impeach Nixon, arguably more for lying and covering up and claiming he was above the law than for the break-in itself. History often repeats itself, and we now have increasing evidence of even more serious actions – ones that point to the past- and almost- president. Although he can no longer be impeached, and she isn’t likely to get into position to be impeached, there could well be consequences. I wonder if the current Democrats will be as offended  as those in the 1970s. Somehow, I doubt it… in fact, if Hillary is smart, she’ll get ahead of the issue and start writing her excuses book and planning the world tour.
