Ovidue Bumbu

A Romanian-born man was arrested Thursday evening in the theft of Jockey underwear at Kohl’s.

Ovidiu Bumbu, 39, entered the store and selected several pairs of Jockey underwear and entered the men’s fitting room, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

He was detained when he attempted to leave the store with the underwear, and it was determined that he was also wearing a stolen pair of Sonoma shoes, a Nike belt and a pair of sunglasses with the tags still on them, the report indicated.

Bumbu said what he had done was “stupid.” He offered to pay for the items.

He was arrested on a charge of retail theft and booked at the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $500.
