Rocky and singer Lou Christie celebrate Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl victory

Gerry “Rocky” Seader has a passion for rock and roll but on Wednesday in Savannah Center, he showed his true colors with singer Lou Christie.
And those colors are Eagles’ green.

Gerry Rocky Seader of Rocky and the Rollers shows off his Philadelphia Eagles garb to singer Lou Christie on Wednesday in Savannah Center.

The Rock and Christie are both Pennsylvania boys. Seader grew up in Philadelphia, while Christie was raised near Pittsburgh. Christie was in The Villages for a show with Rocky and the Rollers. He sang his big hits, including “Lightning Strikes” and the crowd loved it.
But this week, for Rocky, nothing could top The Eagles winning the Super Bowl. The Rock is a big, rough self-described “greaser” but the Philly bad boy was reduced to tears watching Nick Foles and the underdog Eagles beat the New England Patriots.
“I was crying at the end of that game,” Seader said. “I can’t tell you what it means to me. I waited so long to see them win a Super Bowl.”
Rocky grew up in Philadelphia learning to play the drums by banging garbage cans and cardboard boxes. In his free time, he would live and die watching the Eagles.
The same could be said for Lou Christie with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“When you grow up in Pittsburgh, the Steelers are part of your life,” Christie said. “No matter where you go, or where you live, the Steelers are always with you. They are part of your DNA.”

But Christie was a good sport and congratulated the Rock on the Eagles victory.
“Rocky and the Rollers are a great band and it’s always fun working with them. Watch out for the Steelers next year.”
