Rides, prize-winning livestock, fried sweets featured at Sumter County Fair

If you are looking to check out a prize-winning rooster, rabbit, or goat while also chowing down on a deep fried Twinkie, look no further and make your way down to the Sumter County Fair.

The fair, held each year at the Sumter County Fairgrounds in Bushnell (7620 State Road 471), has drawn thousands of local residents with its signature deep-fried sweets, ferris wheels, and carnival games.

Each night, live music is performed by a local band, with The Mudds taking the stage on Thursday night.

If you haven’t gotten a chance to make your way down to the fairgrounds, you’ve still got time! Gates open at 5:00 PM on Friday night and will feature a performance from the Todd Brown Band, with a market lamb show to start at 7:00 PM. Gates open on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM, so make sure to get out and share your pictures and experiences from the fair!
