Richard Michael DeAngelis, proud and loving father of Keena DeAngelis, and grandfather of Michael, died on January 13, 2014 of cancer at the Cornerstone Hospice House in The Villages, Florida. He is also survived by a brother, Robert DeAngelis, an eighty-nine year old aunt, Lucy Allocca, and many loving cousins and nephews.

Richard was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 8, 1942, served in the U.S. Air Force for five years and later moved to Miami, FL until he retired from County Government and moved to The Villages in 2004. Richard ‘s activities in The Villages included learning golf and being an active member of The American Singles Golf Association and Singles Golfers of The Villages. Besides golf, he totally enjoyed taking up ballroom dancing. Spiritually, he studied and practiced the Vedanta philosophy of Hinduism and could be found every Wednesday morning in a meditation group sharing his wisdom.

A Celebration of Life memorial will be held on Friday, February 7 at 3:00 p.m. at Big Cyprus Village Center. Because refreshments are being served, please RSVP to Marilyn Wright, marilynwr555@comcast.net or 352-205-3535, if you intend to stay for the buffet.
