Residents encouraged to apply for the 2018 Marion County Citizens Academy

Get your key boards, touch screens and pencils ready – the application period for the 2018 Marion County Citizens Academy is now open.
This comprehensive course covers the challenges and issues facing Marion County, encourages participation in the government process and familiarizes participants with the operations and services of Marion County government (not including constitutional offices).

Attendees can look forward to interactive demonstrations and behind-the-scenes tours of county facilities, as well as presentations from county commissioners, department directors and other staff.
The program runs March to May on Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon. Marion County residents or business owners ages 18 and older are eligible to attend. All participants must complete a registration form and be accepted prior to attending as well as attend a minimum of eight of the 10 sessions to graduate.
