The release of an accident report is offering details about a crash last week involving a golf cart and SUV.

Frank Naylor Emory, 75, of the Village of Glenbrook, had been driving a 2015 Yamaha golf cart at noon Aug. 29 on Heald Way near the Neighborhood Wal-Mart at Sarasota Plaza when the accident occurred.

A golf cart and SUV collided at noon Aug. 29 on Heald Way near the Wal-Mart at Sarasota Plaza on County Road 466A in The Villages.

He was heading north and making a left turn onto the golf cart path, but turned into the path of a southbound 2010 Nissan Murano driven by 69-year-old Kenneth Robert Koste of the Village of LaBelle, according to an accident report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Emory was ejected from the golf cart in the collision. He told a deputy investigating the crash that he thought he “had enough time” to complete the turn.

Emory was transported by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center. He was ticketed on a charge of failure to yield.
