A postal letter dropbox was reportedly pried open on Monday at the Belleview Post Office.
A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to the post office located at 4800 SE 110th St. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a United States Post Office employee who advised that someone had pried open one of the postal letter drop boxes and had damaged another by prying on it, making it difficult to open. The employee notified the Post Master who then made contact with the deputy.
The Post Master stated that both boxes are damaged to the point that they are not usable.
The deputy then contacted a Postal Inspector and informed him of the incident.
