The Lady Lake Police Department has released an image captured on video surveillance of a man who stole a money clip and nearly $700 belonging to a 72-year-old man.
He had entered at about 1:30 p.m. April 7 the RaceTrac on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and placed the money clip on the counter to retrieve change from another pocket. He left the store, leaving the money clip on the counter.
An examination of video surveillance revealed a man dressed in black stole the money clip and $684 in cash.
Local law enforcement has previously demonstrated it’s not a “finders keepers” world. Last year, a Village of Hillsborough man was arrested, after a man ahead of him in line left behind his wallet at Winn-Dixie at Pinellas Plaza.
