Pair arrested after incident involving stun gun, shovel at residence in The Villages

Two women were arrested after an incident involving a stun gun and a flat-head shovel at a residence on Bailey Trail in The Villages.

Brenda Mai Butkiewicus, 21, of Leesburg, and Breanah Madison Rose, 18, of Fruitland Park  were arrested at the home Friday afternoon by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies.

Rose admitted that she and Butkiewicus had gone to the home to confront a man, who is Butkiewicus’s ex-boyfriend.

Rose had brandished a stun gun. Butkiewicus used the flat head shovel to repeatedly strike the hood of the man’s father’s 2016 Mazda, according to the arrest report.

Butkiewicus was arrested on a charge of criminal mischief. Rose was arrested on a charge of battery.

Both were booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
