Old singers never die, they just keep on rocking.

At least it appears that way in 2018.

Mick Jagger just turned 75 and shows no signs of slowing down. Ex mop-top Paul McCartney celebrated his 76th birthday in June and has a new album called “Egypt Station” coming out Sept. 2. McCartney’s “Carpool Karaoke” with James Corden will be rebroadcast on Aug. 20 at 8 p.m. on CBS.

And Cher marked her 72nd year with a role in “Mamma Mia 2” and will release an album of ABBA cover songs.

Mike Love of Beach Boy fame is 77 and still keeping the memory of the groundbreaking band’s hits alive. Love and his version of the Beach Boys will play The Sharon on March 3-4, 2019.

Old timers will also be invading The Villages this entertainment season.

A 74-year-old Tony Orlando will bring his brand of music to The Sharon on Feb. 24-25, 2019.

“I want to be like George Burns and keep going until I’m 100,” Beach Boy Mike Love, 77, once told me. Love and the Beach Boys play The Sharon March 3-4. It’s the band’s third appearance here in the past two years.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Little Anthony – Anthony Guordine – and the Imperials play Savannah Center on Sept. 21-22.

Anthony, 77, still thrives on stage. He sang lead on such hits as “Tears On My Pillow,” “Going Out of My Head” and “Hurt So Bad.”

Those hits were a long time ago, but “this is the most wonderful time of my life,” Anthony told me during his last visit here.

Florence LaRue, 74, brings her version of the 5th Dimension to Savannah Center on Aug. 22 at 5 and 8 p.m.
Bill Medley, 77, of Righteous Brothers fame, will be coming to The Sharon with Bucky Heard on Jan. 20, 2019.

Florence LaRue, 74, brings her version of the 5th Dimension to Savannah Center Aug. 22 at 5 and 8 p.m. She was an original member of the quartet that produced such hits as “Aquarius…,” “Up, Up and Away,” and “Wedding Bell Blues.”

Bill Medley and the late Bobby Hatfield defined blue-eyed soul in the 1960s when they were known as the Righteous Brothers and sang such classics as “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling.”

Medley, 77, now tours with Bucky Heard and they will be coming to The Sharon on Jan. 20, 2019. Wayne Newton, 76, hits The Sharon with his brand of Vegas showmanship on Feb. 26. And 74-year-old Tony Orlando is due at the Sharon on Feb. 24-25.

The Diamonds came out of Canada during the 1950s and were led by the late Dave Somerville. The current edition of the band, which stays true to the group’s historic roots, will be at the SeaBreeze Recreation on Nov. 18 for a Christmas show.
