Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence located on NW 49th Ave. in reference to a disturbance, according to an arrest report. Upon arrival, deputies met with the victim who stated that he and 37-year-old Tenesha Shanette Denmark had gotten into an argument. He stated that at one point during the argument, it turned physical when he attempted to grab a cigar that Denmark was smoking. Denmark reacted by pushing him and allegedly kicking his leg.

As the man began walking away, she told him that she would “bust a vase over his head.” She eventually threw a glass flower vase at the back of his head as he continued to walk away, causing a golfball sized knot and small laceration to his head.

Denmark told deputies she struck him with the vase because she was not going to let him “throw her out of the house,” the report stated.

She was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail.
