Ocala Police Department investigating skimmer device at bank’s ATM

The Ocala Police Department is investigating reports that a possible bank card skimmer device  was unlawfully installed at a bank ATM machine on Sunday in Ocala.

The skimmer device was possibly installed at the SunTrust Bank located at 3990 SW College Road, according to an OPD media release. The device may have been in use from approximately 11:49 a.m. through 2:17 p.m.

“If citizens used a financial card at that bank location during those times, their card may now be compromised,” the media release stated. Affected card holders are encouraged to contact their own financial institution to replace any potentially affected cards with newly issued card numbers.
