Ocala man with DUI-suspended driver’s license arrested after going on cigarette run

Walter Jacob Alexander Childress

A man with a driver’s license suspended after a drunk driving conviction was arrested Saturday night after going on a cigarette run.

Walter Jacob Alexander Childress, 25, of Ocala, ran a stop sign at about 8:30 p.m., according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. During a traffic stop, Childress admitted to running the stop sign and indicated he was on his way to a BP gas station to purchase cigarettes. He also admitted his driver’s license had been suspended after a DUI conviction. The deputy confirmed that Childress’ driver’s license had been suspended on March 29.
