An Ocala man was arrested Monday after Marion County deputies were called to a home on NW 60th Terrace.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with Humberto Ojeda-Torres, 47, who told them he had been arguing with a woman he lives with in the home. He told deputies that the woman was in the bedroom and attempted to shut the door and lock him out of the room, so he reached through and grabbed her by the arms, the report says.
The woman told deputies that the incident started with Ojeda-Torres started knocking on her bedroom door in an aggressive manner and demanding that she let him in. The woman said she was scared so she opened the door to tell him to leave, the report says, adding that Ojeda-Torres began to force his away into the bedroom.
The woman said she attempted to close the door to keep him out, but he reached through and grabbed her on each of her upper arms. Then he pushed her back into the room and she yelled at him to never touch her again, the report states. Ojeda-Torres then let her go and she showed no visible injuries, the report says.
Deputies also spoke with the woman’s sister, who was in the home during the incident. She confirmed that she her heard her sister yell at Ojeda-Torres to stop touching her.
Based on the evidence presented, the deputy determined that Ojeda-Torres was the aggressor, so he was arrested, charged with battery and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was held without bail.
