New patio packs ’em in at Cody’s at Lake Sumter Landing

There is plenty of outdoor seating at Cody’s Roadhouse restaurant in Lake Sumter Landing thanks to the newly opened patio. A soft opening to let folks get their first peek at the new space was held over Labor Day Weekend. A grand opening featuring the band Second Slice is scheduled for Oct. 1.

The new patio features seating for more than 100 people. The area is covered and heating and cooling units make this space usable year round. The patio also features windows that can be raised to completely seal in the space if that is what weather conditions warrant.

Renovation of the outdoor space at Cody’s includes brand new televisions and a new dance space. The plan is for live entertainment six nights a week and football on Sunday. Cody’s has the NFL Ticket.

The patio will feature a bar menu every day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This menu was described by Cody’s Regional Manager Dean Turner as smaller foods, served a la carte.

“This menu was developed with golfers in mind. Sort of a quick bite for the Villager on the go,” said Turner.

The regular menu is also available all the time inside or out. Happy Hour specials continue, 2 for 1 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. including top shelf brands.

The patio can be reserved for groups until Feb. 1. No reservations are taken from February to Mother’s Day. Cody’s is open on Thanksgiving and already taking reservations.
