New home, new location for ‘The Castle’

“The Castle” has been the home of Affordable Lock & Security.

The developer of a new Wawa has found a new home for “The Castle.”

Affordable Lock & Security Solutions, located in the distinctive-looking Medieval structure, is being displaced from its home on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 to make room for a Wawa gas station and convenience store at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and County Road 466 in Lady Lake.

This past November, the Lady Lake Commission discussed the relocation of the icononic building.

A shut-down service station is located at 127 West Griffin View Drive.

However, last week revised plans were announced to relocate Affordable Lock & Security Solution to 127 West Griffin View Drive. The site is now home to a shuttered service station.

“That will be a great improvement to that location,” said Lady Lake Commissioner Ruth Kussard.

Wawa is assisting Affordable Lock & Security Solutions in its relocation.
