New chair lift to be added by end of next week at pool in Village of Hemingway

A new chair lift will soon be available at the pool in the Village of Hemingway.

Community Development District 7 Supervisor Jerry Vicenti made the request in June for the installation of the chair lift at a Project Wide Advisory Committee meeting.

Sam Wartinbee, of District Property Management, on Thursday told the CDD 7 board the installation will be taking place by the end of next week.

Vicenti, who also represents CDD 7 on PWAC, said he knew a resident with a wife with a disability would be “really excited” to hear the news.

PWAC is looking at adding more chair lifts to swimming pools south of County Road 466. But PWAC will do this over a period of several years, as it would be too costly to try to do it all at once.

Chair lifts cost between $7,000 and $10,000.
