Neighbor to Neighbor meeting in The Villages to center on assisting others

Catherine Ackerman, of the Fifth Circuit Public Guardian Corporation, will be the featured speaker during the upcoming Neighbor to Neighbor meeting in The Villages.

The program serves adults with mental and/or physical disabilities as their court-appointed legal guardian when they are deemed incapable of managing their own affairs. Those attending will learn how to assist another resident if you think a neighbor or friend is being neglected or has become incapable of managing their own dwelling and household. There also will be information about what civil rights can be removed by the courts during the incapacity determination process.

The Neighbor to Neighbor meeting will be held Aug. 20 at Paradise Recreation Center from 10 a.m. to noon.
