Knight of Knight Engineering Inc. has submitted a subdivision preliminary plat on behalf of Lake Ella LLC proposing 279 single family residence units on 67.47 acres located on Lake Ella Road, one mile west of Lake Ella Road and U.S. Hwy. 27/441. The new homes will be part of Lake Ella Estates.

Nearly 300 homes are planned on a 67-acre site on Lake Ella Road.

The proposal will be reviewed at 5:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18 by the Lady Lake Commission.

The builder explains in the application that the plan is “to maximize the open spaces and especially a proposed large park at the north end of the project,” according to the application.

The homes will be aimed at satisfying the “demand in Northern Lake County for affordable, appealing, technologically advanced housing on manageable sized lots.”
