A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night in a crash on U.S. 27 in Lake County.
Jeremy Woodward, 35, of Tampa had been riding a 2011 Kawasaki motorcycle at 7:25 p.m. and was turning onto southbound U.S. 27 from U.S. 192 when he lost control of the motorcycle, it left the roadway and struck a sign, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. Woodward was thrown from the motorcycle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by the Medical Examiner.
He had not been wearing a helmet, the report noted.
