Elizabeth Leann Mikowski

A Michigan woman was arrested in the theft of a bathing suit top at Belk at La Plaza Grande in The Villages.

Lady Lake police were called at 8:45 p.m. Friday to the store where the loss prevention officer alerted police to 49-year-old Elizabeth Leann Mikowski of Traverse City, Mich., who had been spotted taking the item into a fitting room. She went to check out and paid for some items, but not the bathing suit top, which she was wearing, according to an arrest report.

She was confronted by police and admitted she was wearing the swimsuit top, which was priced at $58.

She was arrested on a charge of retail theft and booked at the Lake County Jail. She was released after posting $500.
