Marion County Sheriff’s deputies participate in Tallahassee law enforcement memorial

Three members of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office recently attended the Fraternal Order of Police Law Enforcement Memorial at the Florida State Capitol complex in Tallahassee.

Major Crimes Det. Damon Baxley, Sgt. Donald Buie and Dep. Eli Serrano participated in the Fraternal Order of Police Law Enforcement Memorial at the Florida State Capitol complex in Tallahassee.

Sgt. Donald Buie and Deputy Eli Serrano of the sheriff’s office Honor Guard and Major Crimes Det. Damon Baxley participated in the event. Both Buie and Serrano took part in the Honor Guard presentation, while Baxley sang during the ceremony to honor fallen heroes and their families.

Fourteen names are being added this year to the list of 806 fallen officers from Florida on the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C. More than 21,000 names of law enforcement officials from across the country are etched into the memorial.
