Marion County school bus driver ticketed after accident with 29 children on board

A Marion County school bus driver was ticketed following an accident Thursday morning.

About 6:43 a.m., 58-year-old Lois Moore of Ocala was driving a school bus loaded with 29 students traveling southbound on Nashua Way, approaching a right curve, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report. Moore failed to observe the curve and took evasive action at the last second. She applied the brakes, causing the bus to skid approximately 44 feet before traveling off the roadway onto the east grass shoulder. The front left of the bus struck a tree. None of the children were injured.
