Marion County residents could face fines for debris dumping

Marion County residents are reminded that storm-related yard waste that does not occur due to a natural disaster, such as a hurricane or tornado, is the responsibility of the resident to deal with the debris as they would deal with normal occurrences of yard waste. No declared natural disaster occurred this past weekend. Individuals placing debris caused by the rain and wind this weekend in the right-of-way may be fined if witnessed doing so.
For more information on how to properly dispose of yard waste, contact Marion County Solid Waste at (352) 671-8465.
