Marion County Fire Rescue firefighters mitigated damage to a local business Thursday night.
Marion County Public Safety Communications Center dispatchers received an emergency call reporting a fire at Ring Power, 6200 N. US Hwy 441, in Ocala at 10:01 p.m. The caller advised the fire was in a maintenance building, one of several structures on the construction equipment dealer’s property.
When MCFR Engine 1, the first of 13 units, arrived on scene at 10:10 p.m. flames and smoke were visible. Firefighters worked quickly and called the fire under control in just 10 minutes.
Vehicle maintenance equipment was damaged, but there were no injuries and construction vehicles were lost. The building is salvageable. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
