Maria Pilar Zonin

Maria Pilar Zonin

Maria del Pilar Zonin, 60, of Leesburg, FL passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018.

Maria, known as Pili to her family, was born in Uruguay on June 19, 1957. She was the first born child of Carlos and Francisca Gonzalez.

Maria married John Andrew Zonin on December 23, 1973. She had her first child, a daughter, Amy Pili Zonin, on July 15, 1975. Then, on November 20, 1977, had her second child, a son, John Andrew Zonin, Jr.

This “Jersey Princess” had an eye for fashion and is the reason they coined the phrase “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend”. Totally the “Material Girl” with a heart of gold (it was really gold, if you asked her, she’d tell you that!). Never took “no” for an answer. Elvira incarnate. World’s best cream puff maker. Literally shop till you drop aholic! Always accomplished what she set out to do, and colored it Purple! Thought she was funny, and really was.

John’s “hot mama”, super mom, sassy mother-in-law, alpha to her fur tribe, loyal friend, kick-butt aunt, and doting grandmother to the light in her eyes and the beat of her heart, Noah Scott Zonin.

Most of all, she was a BEAUTIFUL WARRIOR GODDESS that we will love and miss forever.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 2 – 4 p.m. with a short service to follow at Beyers Funeral Home, 134 U.S. Hwy. 441 in Lady Lake, FL 32195

Flowers may be sent to the funeral home or donations can be made to the Kidney Cancer Association in her honor.
