Man will have to answer in court after altercation in Applebee’s parking lot

A 21-year-old Lady Lake man will have to answer in court after an altercation in the parking lot of Applebee’s in The Villages.

Shea Tylor Garrard will be arraigned March 27 in Lake County Court in connection with the March 1 incident.

He was “profusely bleeding” from his right hand and had blood splattered on his shirt, shorts and shoes when law enforcement arrived on the scene, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. He was in an area with several pickup trucks and several other men.

Garrard had reportedly punched out the driver’s side mirror of another man’s pickup, causing it to shatter. The other man had taunted Garrard, asking him “Hey, don’t you have school tomorrow?”

A third man got involved and Garrard allegedly took a swing at him.

Garrard was issued a notice to appear in court to answer to a charge of battery.

He and four other men have been barred from Applebee’s as a result of the incident.
