Man to escape prosecution in altercation at postal station in The Villages

Carlton Wayne Firoved

A 54-year-old man will escape prosecution in connection with an altercation this past January at a postal station in The Villages.

Carlton Wayne Firoved, who was staying at 1716 Picasso Place in Villa Del Canto, was arrested Jan. 11 on a charge of battery on a person over the age of 65 after an altercation at the Alhambra Postal Station. The Virginia native and the other individual had gotten into a verbal altercation over Firoved’s driving behavior within a residential area, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The victim claimed to have been hit in the head by a car door. Firoved, who stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 245 pounds, admitted to pushing the victim’s car door at the victim, who did not suffer “significant injury,” the arrest report said.

The prosecutor’s office announced on Sept. 17 that no information will be filed in the case as it was “resolved without prosecution.”
