Man jailed after paying phone bill with stolen child support credit card

Lloyd Jeremy Sails

A 30-year-old Wildwood man was jailed after reportedly paying his phone bill with a stolen child support credit card.

Lloyd Jeremy Sails has been arrested on charges of burglary, petit theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

A woman had reported that on July 8 someone had taken a black drawstring bag from her car. The bag contained items including her child support credit card.

Sails used the credit card two days later to pay his $54.66 cell phone bill, the report indicated.

He voluntarily went for an interview Tuesday afternoon at the Wildwood Police Department.

He admitted he used the credit card to pay his phone bill. He claimed he found the card in a laundry mat and tried using to pay his bill “just to see if it worked.”

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $6,500 bond.
