Man goes to Wildwood Police Department to report being choked to ‘point of blacking out’

A Wildwood man was arrested after allegedly choking another man to the “point of blacking out.”

A man went to the Wildwood Police Department to report the attack he said took place Wednesday night at the home of 29-year-old Joshua Caleb Sturgill at 713 Mission Drive, according to an arrest report.

The man said the verbal argument turned physical and Sturgill choked him to the “point of blacking out.” A witness verified the man’s account and said he had to pull Sturgill off the man.

Sturgill was arrested at his home on a charge of battery.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $1,000.
