Man from Honduras arrested after caught driving without license in Wildwood

Jose Edgardo Recinos Iraheta

A man from Honduras was arrested Tuesday morning after he was caught driving without a driver’s license in Wildwood.

Jose Edgardo Recinos Iraheta, 43, who provided an Ocala address, at about 8:30 a.m. was driving a 2005 Kia van, which was pulling out of the Circle K convenience store at 1001 S. Main St., according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. A traffic stop was initiated after an officer noticed the vehicle’s brake lights were not working.

Recinos Iraheta admitted he did not have a U.S. driver’s license and handed the police officer his Honduran identification card.

He was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. He was released after posting $500 bond.
