Man forced to barricade himself in room after alleged attack by 33-year-old woman

Nickie Kay Collinsworth

A man was forced to barricade himself in a room after an alleged attack by a 33-year-old woman.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies were called at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday to a residence on SE 96th PL RD in Ocala after a 911 call was received. The line was open and the dispatcher could hear a man and woman arguing with the man making the statement, “It’s over.” The dispatcher also heard the man ordering someone to leave, said he hit in the face and was tired of it, according to an arrest report.

When deputies arrived on the scene, the man told them he had been attacked by Nickie Kay Collinsworth.

He said they were in an argument that turned physical and he tried to separate himself from Collinsworth. He barricaded himself in a bedroom, but Collinsworth attempted to kick in the door. He then retreated to a bathroom. When he attempted to emerge from the bathroom, Collinsworth blocked his exit, punched him in the back of the head and struck him with an open palm on his nose.

Collinsworth was arrested on a charge of battery. She was booked at the Marion County Jail where she initially held without bond.
