A man who was believed to have been involved in the theft of items from Stein Mart was taken into custody Saturday by Lady Lake police.
Officers were called to the store after employees spotted a man believed to have been involved in prior thefts at the store. The man had a large amount of clothing, but discarded the items after spotting law enforcement.
The man refused to provide identification. He resisted officers’ attempts to identify him with a Rapid ID device. He was found to be in possession of Fentanyl.
When he was being processed at the Lake County Jail, personnel were able to identify him through fingerprints as Alexander Isiah Arce, 31, of Ocala.
He was booked at the Lake County Jail where bond was set at $4,000.
