Man with driver’s license revoked since 1985 arrested by Marion County sheriff’s deputies

Robert Roan

A Dunnellon man was arrested after driving with a license that has been revoked since 1985.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy on Wednesday observed 54-year-old Robert Luis Roan driving on a non-public access road, west of Marion Oaks Course, according to an arrest report. The deputy advised he waited for Roan to turn onto Marion Oaks Course, and he observed the lavender Chrysler mini van to have an expired registration decal indicating “8/17.” The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with Roan. A computer check of Roan’s driver’s license indicated that he has had numerous suspensions. Roan’s driver’s license indicated that it was revoked 32 years ago in June of 1985

Roan was issued a traffic citation and written warning for the expired registration. He was placed under arrest and transported to Marion County Jail.
