Man cut off by bartenders at City Fire arrested after reports of ‘drunk pedestrian’

Andrew Alan Agren

A man who was cut off by bartenders at City Fire was arrested after reports of a “drunk pedestrian” at the Lake Sumter Landing nightspot.

Andrew Alan Agren, 64, of Mount Dora, attracted the attention of Sumter County sheriff’s deputies shortly after 10 p.m. after reports stating that he was harassing guests because the bartenders were not serving him.

Deputies warned Agren not to drive and not to sit in the driver’s side seat with the keys in his hands because he would then be in physical control of the vehicle.

A short time later, Agren was found sleeping in a white pickup truck parked on Old Mill Run. The keys were in his hand.

He failed field sobriety exercises. He could not meet the volume required for a sufficient breath test.

When he was handcuffed and placed in the back of a patrol car, he cursed at deputies.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center where bond was set at $1,000.
