Man attempts to steal five-pack of boxer briefs, NY deli sandwich at Wal-Mart in Summerfield

A man attempted to steal a five-pack of boxer briefs, a New York deli sandwich and other merchandise Monday night at Wal-Mart in Summerfield.

The man walked out with the merchandise at about 6:15 p.m. Monday, according to an incident report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

He also took a bag of Funyuns chips and assorted pencils and went through a self-checkout lane where he put the merchandise into a bag and attempted to leave the store.

When he was confronted by store personnel, he claimed the register had not provided a receipt. He put down the boxer briefs and pencils and fled with the bag of food.
