Marion County sheriff’s deputies located a 2009 red Chevrolet Silverado traveling northbound on U.S. Hwy. 441 after receiving a report of a reckless driver. Deputies observed the pickup truck change from the left lane to the right without activating a turn signal, then swerve numerous times. After the vehicle swerved over the white fog line, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 3000 block of South Pine Avenue. The driver was identified as 27-year-old Mark Timothy Buckner of Weirsdale.

When deputies asked if he had too much to drink to be driving, Buckner stated “that he had,” according to the report. Buckner admitted he had consumed six beers “plus some shots.”

After failing field sobriety exercises, Buckner was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail. He provided breath samples that registered .223 and .214 blood alcohol content.

Bond was set at $1,000.
