Man arrested on drunk driving charge after causing disturbance at City Fire

Adam Douglas Noell

A man was arrested on a drunk driving charge after reportedly causing a disturbance at City Fire at Brownwood Paddock Square

Wildwood police had been called to City Fire where the manager said a man, later identified as 30-year-old Adam Douglas Noell of Wildwood, was “highly intoxicated” and had been causing a “verbal disturbance,” according to an arrest report.

When the officer arrived on the scene, Noell had left City Fire and went to the nearby World of Beer. Noell had calmed down and the officer advised Noell he should not drive.

The officer remained in his squad car, a few parking spaces from Noell’s pickup. He watched Noell get into the truck and drive away. The officer initiated a traffic stop at Kiessel Road and Shady Nook Run. Noell would not get out of the truck to take part in field sobriety exercises. He refused to provide a breath sample.

He was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. He was released after posting $1,000.
