Man arrested after failure to perform AC work at residence in the Village of Buttonwood

Stanley Marvin Armstrong

A Wildwood man has been arrested after failing to perform air conditioning work at a residence in the Village of Buttonwood.

Stanley Marvin Armstrong, 49, was taken into custody Monday at his home by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies on felony charges of grand theft and fraud.

This past May, Armstrong accepted a $2,400 check from a homeowner on Plumosa Court.

Armstrong cashed the Villager’s check, but never returned to perform the work. The homeowner made repeated phone calls to Armstrong and even sent him a certified letter. He never responded.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $4,000 bond.
