Two projects are planned along State Road 44 in southern Wildwood.
At a meeting Tuesday of the Wildwood Planning and Zoning Board, Special Magistrate Grant Watson Tuesday recommended both projects for approval by the city commission.
A proposed mixed-use project that includes 40 apartments plus commercial buildings and offices will be located south of SR 44 about a quarter mile west of Buena Vista Boulevard.
That project received city approval in 2014 and the developers, Walter and Norma Novillo, were granted a year-long extension of their development agreement in April 2016. A petition to revive the expired planned development was filed last November.
Up to 83 apartments would be allowed on the 6.9-acre site, which also will have a pool, clubhouse, about 250 parking spaces and 70,000-square-feet of commercial space. Construction must begin within two years or the development agreement will expire again.
A county road within the development will be closed.
The second project is expansion by Gresco Utility Supply on the northeast corner of SR 44 and County Road 219, about a mile west of U.S. 301.
The 50-year-old electrical supply and service company plans a 5,596-square-foot office and a 30,000-square-foot warehouse plus parking on its 32-acre site.
