Local postal customers face long lines as Christmas deadline nears

Christmas is rapidly approaching and Villagers and area residents are busy sending cards and packages to loved ones up north.

The U.S. Postal Services reminds customers of some key mailing/shipping dates if you want your cards and packages to reach their destination by Dec. 24.

• Dec. 15: Standard post should be mailed.

• Dec. 20: Deadline for first-class and Priority Mail should be sent.

• Dec. 23: Priority Mail Express will still reach your destination by Christmas Eve.
