Michael makes his daily trip to his job by a commuter train. It is dull, boring, but a necessary step in his everyday existence. For some unknown reason, he is mysteriously connected by his cell phone to a voice that tells him he is to find and murder someone on the train. His family is being held hostage.
Liam Neeson is an accomplished actor. As Michael, he trudges from car to car on the train looking for clues as to who his target is. He continues to receive directions via his cell, but is unable to make much sense out of the information.
Tension-soaked scenes dominate this script, but there is not much else to justify a two-hour stint with Michael.
“The Commuter” is currently playing at the Old Mill Theater at Lake Sumter Landing in The Villages.
