Law enforcement has tracked down a pair who allegedly stole large tires last year from a Lady Lake tire store.
Warrants had been obtained for the arrests of Floyd Buchanan, 58, of Oxford, and Mary Esther Buchanan, 46, of Ocala. They were taken into custody last month in Ocala by the Florida Highway Patrol.
They had been spotted Sept. 6 at Boulevard Tire Center on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 in a semi. They told a Lady Lake police officer they had permission from store management to remove old tires.
The following day, police followed up with store management who said the pair had not been given permission to take the tires, valued at $250 each. The store’s management indicated they wanted to see the pair prosecuted and warrants were obtained.
After the pair was taken into custody, they were booked at the Marion County Jail.
