Lady Lake police arrest man who attempted to break into car

A man was arrested by Lady Lake police Wednesday afternoon after he attempted to break into a car in the 200 block of Lake Griffin Road.

John Edgar Dollar, 26, of Belleview was taken into custody in a wooded area off U.S. Hwy. 27/441 at about 3:20 p.m.

Dollar is accused of entering an open garage and attempting to break into a car.

A man came into the garage and confronted Dollar who fled on foot. The man chased Dollar while the man’s wife called 911.

Lady Lake police pounced on the scene and soon took Dollar into custody.

He was transported to the Lake County Jail. He is facing a charge of burglary.
