Lady Lake man spotted in van with wrong license plate arrested for driving on suspended license

Alvin N. Desantis

A Lady Lake man spotted in a vehicle with the wrong license plate was arrested for driving on a suspended license.

Alvin N. Desantis, 60, of 37420 Genius Court, had been driving a white van early Friday morning southbound on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 when a police officer discovered the license plate attached to the van belonged to a silver Chevy Blazer.

Desantis admitted the tag didn’t belong on the van and that he was driving on a suspended license. His license had been suspended in 2013.

He was taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $5,000.

The van was towed from the scene by Kling Towing.
