Lady Lake man arrested on DUI charge also charged with possession of marijuana

Larry Shane McCormick

A Lady Lake man arrested last week on a charge of driving under the influence was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

Larry Shane McCormick, 47, had been at the wheel of a pickup truck at 2:18 a.m. Thursday when he was pulled over by a Fruitland Park police officer.

The officer reported smelling marijuana and noted that McCormick’s eyelids were “droopy,” according to the arrest report.

Although no alcohol or drugs were found in the truck, the officer found a bag containing marijuana just outside the truck, the report indicated.

McCormick refused to participate in field sobriety exercises and twice refused to provide a breath sample.

He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and possession of marijuana. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,000 bond.
