King Garden restaurant in Summerfield was shut down last week after failing a health inspection.

The Chinese restaurant at 17860 SE 109th Ave. near Spruce Creek South was shut down April 10 after an inspector found three high-priority violations. They were:

• Live roaches were found in a box on a prep table.

• A roach egg sack was found on a prep table near fryers on a cookline.

• Windex was spotted on a shelf next to soy sauce.

Other less severe violations included old food stuck to “clean” dishes and utensils, spiderwebs under a prep table and between equipment on the cookline, and an accumulation of food residue on the interior of a reach-in cooler.
