Kathleen Faye Marteeny

Kathleen Faye Marteeny

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Kathleen Faye Marteeny, age 69, of The Villages, Florida, who died on Friday, August 17, 2018. Kathy was born to William & Shirley Hellyer on May 2, 1949 in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Kathy met her husband John Marteeny while attending Kent State University and they were married on August 1, 1970. They recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.

Kathy and John had one daughter, Elizabeth, and Kathy’s family was her main passion. She treasured her grandchildren and especially loved the times she was with them. She loved spending time with her family, hosting many holiday celebrations, and sailing on Lake Erie with John and Elizabeth. Kathy also had an insurance business where she attained the honor of the Million Dollar Round Table. After living most of their married life in Pittsburgh, Kathy and John moved to The Villages where she enjoyed the active lifestyle and made many new friendships.

Kathy is survived by her husband John, her daughter Elizabeth (Michael) Sattler, her adored grandchildren Vivian and William of Valparaiso, Indiana, and her brother David (Deborah) Hellyer of State College, Pennsylvania, and many other loved family members.

A private service and internment will be held in Greenville, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation on Kathy’s behalf be made to the Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, www.cchfoundation.net, 248 E. Chestnut Hill Road, Suite 4, Newark, Delaware 19713.
