Katherine Coggins

Katherine Tidwell Coggins, age 97, of Leesburg, FL, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018, in Leesburg, FL. She was born in Live Oak, Florida to Mr. David Tidwell Jr. and Frances (McRae) Tidwell. S

She was raised in Tampa and moved with her family to Ft. Myers in 1963. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ft. Myers and a member of the Edison Garden Club. She enjoyed cooking, painting china, and playing bridge.

She is survived by daughters: LaDonna (Jack) Glover of Yalaha, FL, Melinda O’Brien of The Villages, FL, Annette Coggins (Jim Mahan) of Anacortes WA, one son: Lester (Cheryl) Coggins of Leesburg, FL; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Coggins, Sr. and second husband, Burton Hammond.

A service will be held at Purcell Funeral Chapel on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 5:30 (with visitation from 5 to 5:30 p.m.) with Rev. Marguerite Matthews officiating.
